(1 ) A member of a panchaytt shall et0Se to be a member if— rteeno n n
(a) he is or becomes subject to any of the disqualitications men- 1biurrin tioned in Fection 12; or
(b) he ceases to be ordinerily rosident within the panchayet area from which he was elected; or
(c) he absents himself for more than three constrcutive meatings ot the panchayat without the leeve of the panchowt.

(2) If any person is simultaneously elected as a member of two or more village(Oweete) panchayats, such person shall, within fHtettn daYs from the data of the hrter on which he is so elected, intimate his option to the prescribed etithority, in respect of the pencheyrit in which he wisites to opt and, thereuatin his seet in the panPhoyet other then the one in which he wiehes to cenitlnue; shall become vacant. -•
(3) Any intimation. glven under sub-section (2) Shell be tinal and irravocable. '•
(4) ln default of intimation referred to in sub-soction .3, within the eforessid period, the arescribed authority, shall determine the seet which he shall'retainand thezeupon the fentaining aeate from which he was chosen, shall borcoms vacent. ProvIded that If hs is elected for the seats for which he stood as a candidete, the seet streadsi heleity him shall become vacant on the clate on which he is so elected.
