The Lakshadweep Panchayats Regulation, 1994.Regulations · 1994

(i) Every person whose name is, for the time being, entered in the electoral roll for a panchayat as an elector shall he entitled to vote at the election of a member of that panchayat.

(2) No person shall have right to vote under this Regulation in more than one constitutency in respect of a panchay;). or more than once in the same constituency and if he does soJ all his votes shall be invalid.

17. Tho election of members uf a panchayat shall be held in accordance with such rules as may be prescribed on such date as the Administrator may, by notification direct:

Provided that a casual vacancy shall be filled as soon as may be after the occurence of the vacancy:

Provided further that no election shall be held to fill a casual vacancy occuring within six months prior to the expiry of term of the Panchayat.
