. (1) In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires,- "Act" means the Madhya Pradesh Niji Vyavsayik Shikshan Sanstha (Pravesh Ka Viniyaman Avam Shulk Ka Nirdharan) Adhiniyam, 2007 (No. 21 of 2007) "Admission Rules, 2008" means rules relating to the eligibility of admission, manner of admission and allocation of seats in private unaided professional educational institutions (including reservation of seats for non-resident Indian candidates);

"AICTE" means Al! Indian Council for Technical Education established under the All India Council for Technical Education Act, 1987 (52 of 1987);

"Competent Authority" shall have the same meaning as assigned to it in clause (g) of rule • of the Admission Rules, 2008;

"Courses" Means any course, the nomenclature of which is approved by the AICTE and for which a separate degree/diploma is awarded by any recognized University or Board or Institution like, BE.- Electrical, B.E.-Mechanical, MCA, MBA, D. Pharma., etc;

"general pool" mean i 85% seats of the sanctioned intake per course, wherein the total sanctioned intake 5% seats are being filled up by non-resident Indian candidates and 10% seats under institutional preference category and it shall mean 95% of the sanctioned intake per course, wherein the total sanctioned intake 5% seats are being filled up by non-resident Indian candidates only, and when no admissions are being done under non-resident Indian and under institutional preference .

In general pool seats, there shall be reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (excluding Creamy layer) category students for Madhya Pradesh domicile candidates as per Government notification.

"Head of Institution" means Principal / Director of the Institution;

"qualifying examination" means the examination, passing of which entitles one to seek admission into the relevant professional courses;

(2) The words and expressions used but not defined in these regulations shall have the same meaning as assigned to them in the Act and Admission Rules, 2008.
