2.3 In absence of the Chairman the senior most Head shall.abt..ai a Chairman for the meeting.
24 In absence of Dean of the concerned school, Vice chancellor shall nominate any Dean of other school as Chairman of the Board of Studies Casual vacancy: Any Casual Vacancy arising in the Board of Studies may be filled for the unexpired period by the Vice Chancellor, provided that the members so nominated shall be taken from and within the same category.
Notification: Constitution of the Board of Studies shall• be notified blithe Vice Chancellor of the University. .
Term: The term of the nominated members shall be of two years from the date of notification.
Meeting: The Meeting of the Board Of Studies May be 'scheduled as and When necessary but .
at least once in an academic year With the prior approval of Vice Chancellor of the University.
Functions : The Board of Studies of the Centre/Department in University shall perform the following activities: .* •
7.1 Detail syllabi of different courses of each 'School/Centre/Department shall be prepared by the Board of Studies and submitted to the Academic Council of the University for apProval.

7.2 Contents of the syllabi shall be revised and updated by the Board of Studies atleast once in three years or before and be submitted to the Academic Council for approval.
7.3 Any matter referred to the Board of Studies in accordance with the Statute's; Ordinances or Regulations by the Executive Council or by the Academic Council or by the Vice Chancellor of the University or by the Head of School/Centre/Department concerned.
8. Procedure of Meeting:
8.1 The Board of Studies forms a quorum when at least.half of its members shall remain present, out of which two external members must remain present.
8.2. Intimation of meeting shall be given by Member Secretary with the permission of Chairman, minimum 15 days prior to the scheduled date of a meeting.
8.3 Cases to be considered at meetings of the Board will be placed in the order in which they are listed on the agenda and will be intimated to all the members at least 7 days prior to the meeting by the Member Secretary with the permission of Chairman.
8.4 In cases of urgency, Member Secretary with the permission of Chairman may call a meeting of the board 7 days prior to the scheduled date of meeting.
8.5 Minutes of the meeting held earlier will be tabled by the Member Secretary with the permission . of chair for the approval.
8.6 The Board of Studies may decide to include new items on the agenda, and it may decide to deviate from the original order set out 'rithe agenda and consider cases in another order.
8.7 The decisions of the Board Q generally.te taken by the consensus.
