411:117, Rtht 9 /11 /2016 flufasileter ENTRANCE EXAMINATION RULES, 2016 Statute No. 18 Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies, Bhopal ' SANCHI UNIVERSITY OF BUDDHIST-INDIC STUDIES Sanchi, District-Raisen Established under Act 1,2013 of 2012 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION RULES Short Title and Commencement These rules shall be called the "Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies Entrance Examination Rules 2016" and shall be applicable for entrance examination of Programmes/Courses of Schools/centers/departments from the date of notification. Anything repugnant or contrary to these rules shall be considered as null and void for entrance examination in any programme/course offered by the University.
Definitions and Interpretations
2.1 'Entrance Examination' means an examination which shall be conducted by the ,University for the admission to any programme/course offered by the University.
2.2 'Candidate' means an applicant who desires to seek admission to any Course/Programme which shall be offered by the Universit0

'Central Admission Committee' means Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies Central Admission Committee formed for centralized online/offline admission for various programmes/courses of the University formed as per ordinance of the University. • 'Departmental Admission Committee' means a committee constituted for regulating the admission process at the School/Centre/department level.
• 'University Departmentimeans a department of Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies.
'P.G. Programmes' qualifying examination means 10+2+3/Graduate Course from any recognised University/Institute.
'M. Phil. Programmes', qualifying examinations means P.G. Course from any recognised University/Institute.

2.13 'PhD. Programmes', qualifying examinations means P.G. /M. Phil Course from any recognised University/Institute.
2.14 'Recognised University/Institute' means one which offers courses as per the norms of the council/commission constituted by the Government of India for good quality education.
2.1 5 'Controller of Examinations' means officer of the University who shall be responsible for examinations and related works of the University.
2.1 6 'SUBIS' means Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies.
2.17 'School' means an academic school of the University.
2.1 8 'Centre' means an academic centre of the University.
2.19 'Department' means an academic department of the University.
2.20 'Internal Examiners' means a Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor, who is the member of the University/Centre/Department.
2.2 1 'External Examiners' means a Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor, who is not the member of the University/Centre/Department.
2.22 'Moderator' means an officer of the University who shall remove/modify the questions set outside the prescribed syllabi and remove ambiguity in the wording of.question(s), and to enhance clarity in the questi

3.2 The office:of.Controlle Exalt:pa:60w sftaltpopd'ctthe entratibe-examination and prepare a merit list (category wise) on the basis of marks obtained in the examination.
3.3 The Central Admission Committee after scrutiny of application forms, shall forward the list of eligible candidates who have applied for admission for programme/course in School/centre/department to the Controller of Examinations for conduction of entrance examination.
3.4 The entrance examination shall have two components, written examination and viva-voce examination.
3.5 There shall be one paper of 3 hours duration for written entrance examination comprising multiple choice and short answer type questions. Total maximum marks for entrance examination shall be 200, out of which written examination shall be of 140 marks and vivavoce shall be of 60 marks.
3.6 The admission shall be done on the basis of final merit in the written examination and vivavoce for each programme/course. The ratio of marks of written examination and viva-voce shall be 70:30.

3.7 Minimum 60% marks are mandatory in the final merit list (prepared by adding the marks of written examination and viva-voce) for General/OBC candidates and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates.
3.7.1 Minimum 50% marks are mandatory for passing the written examination for General Category/OBC while minimum 40% marks are mandatory in written examination for SC/ST category.
3.7.2 The candidates who shall secure mininium passing marks as per clause 3.7.1 in written examination shall be called for viva-voce examination.
3.7.3 Minimum 50% marks aiv mandatory for passing the viva-voce examination for General Category/OBC while minimum 40% marks are mandatory for SC/ST category.
3.6 The entrance examination for Foreign Nationals/NRI shall be as per University ordinance.
3.9 Applications/ inquiries received for admission through third party shall not be entertained and shall be categorically rejected.
3.10 No Travelling allowances shall be paid to the candidates appearing in the entrance examination and viva-voce examination.

4.4 Among the three appointed examiners for category I and II as per clause 4.3, minimum one extemal examiner is mandatory. For category III, there shall be internal examiner.
4.5 After receiving the names of appointed examiners for every programme/course by the Vicechancellor, the Controller of Examinations shall initiate the process of preparation of 3 sets of question papers by the three appointed examiners in category I for every programme/course.
4.6 Each examiner of category I shall prepare questions as per following:
There shall be 100 multiple choice Questions of 1 mark each in two specified categories- Core Subject: 70 Multiple choice questions.

There shall be 50 short answer type questions of 2 marks each as per following:

4.7 The Vice chancellor shall decide the set of question paper out of three sets of question paper from which entrance examination shall be conducted.
4.8 The Controller of Examinations with the permission of concemed Dean shall appoint a moderator for each set of question paper for every programme/course. The moderator shall moderate the given set of question paper as per following:

4.9 The University shall generally conduatiale entrance examination at Bhopal centre. However, there shall be a provision to fill theloice for other centres in the application form. The r atorstict . 5.2 There shall be a question booklet for each programme/course having two types of questions - Multiple choice and short answer type question. Multiple choice questions shall have 5 options, candidate shall tick the most appropriate answer. There shall be limited space in the question booklet for short answer type questions.
5.3 The detailed instructions shall be published on the question booklet and answer sheet regarding candidates.
5.4 The Controller of Examinations shall ensure the evaluation of the answer sheets by the examiner appointed as per clause 4.3 5,5 There shall be no provision of negative marking for the incorrect answers.
5.6 The Controller of Examinations after evaluation of answer sheets of written examinations shall prepare a list of qualified candidates (category wise), which shall be approved by the Vice chancellor.
5.7 The candidates not securing minimum marks as per clause 3.7 shall not be called for vivavoce examination.
