Section 1: Short title, extent and commencement

M.P. Gandi Basti Kshetra (Sudhar Tatha Nirmulan) Adhiniyam, 1976State Act of Madhya Pradesh · Act 39 of 1976

(1) This Act may be called the Madhya Pradesh Gandi Basti Kshetra (Sudhar Tatha Nirmulan) Adhiniyam, 1976.

(2) It extends to the whole of Madhya Pradesh.

(3) It shall come into force in-

(a) the towns and cities of Bhopal, Jabalpur, Indore, Raipur, Ujjain, Gwalior and Neemuch at once;

and

(b) any other town having a population of more than five thousand on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different towns.
