Section 36: President of general meeting

The President or in his absence the Vice-President or in the absence of both a member elected by the members present at the meeting shall preside over the general meeting:

Provided that a general meeting convened under sub-rule (1) of Rule 34 shall be preside over by a member elected by the members present at such meeting:

Provided further that where the term of the committee of a society has expired under clause ( i i i) of sub -section (7-A) of Section 49, or the powers of the committee are deemed to have been vested in Registrar under sub -section

(8) of Section 49, or the committee of the society has been removed under sub - section (1) of Section 52 -A, or the committee of the society has been superseded or suspended under Section 53, or a person or committee has been appointed under sub-section (13) of Section 53; the general meeting shall be presided over by such person as may be authorised by the Registrar.
