Whoever, without lawful authority, has in his possession any quanti ty of any intoxicant knowing the same to have been unlawfully imported, transported, manuf actured, cult ivated or collected knowing the prescribed duty not to have been paid thereon, shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.
