Section 58: Additional provisions for buildings with height above 12.5 meters

(1) Planning Norms for the buildings having height above 12.5 meters and up to 30 meters shall be as given in Table No 4.

(3) For building having height more than 12.5 meters the necessary drawings and details shall be submitted to the Agency incorporating all the fire fighting measures recommended in National Building Code Part-IV.

The occupancy permit shall be issued only after ensuring that all fire fighting measures are physically in place.

(4) For ·all high rise buildings site clearance under sub-rule (2) of Rule 18.

shall be necessary. After site clearance by. the committee composite building permission from-the Agency shall be necessary.

( 5) The approach to the building and. open spaces on its all sides shall be as hard as is required to bear the weight of fire engine. The said open §pace shall be kept free of obstruction and shall be motor-able. • ( 6) Main entrance to the plot shall be of adequate width to allow easy access to the fire engine and·in no case it shall measure less than 6.0 meters. The entrance gate shall fold back against the compound wall of the premises, thus leaving the exterior access way within the plot free for movement of fire service vehicles. If the main entrance at the boundary wall is built over, the minimum clearance shall be 4.5 mete.rs.

590 Cul-De-Sacs.- Cul-de-sacs giving access to plots will be allowed provided that cul-de-sacs would be permissible only on straight roads and the turning space shall not be less than 121 square meters in area with no dimension being less than 11 meters.
