Section 2: Definitions

Madhya Pradesh Panchayat and Rural Development (Gazetted) Service Recruitment Rules, 1988State Rules of Madhya Pradesh · 1993

In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,-

(a) "AppointingAuthOrity"in respect of the Servicemeans the Govern-ment;

(b)"Commission"means the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commis-sion;

(c)"Examination" means a competitive examination for recruitment to the Service held under rule 11 of these rules; .

(d) "Schedule" means a Schedule appended to these rules;

(e)"Scheduled Caste" means any caste, race or tiibe or part of or group Within a caste, race or tribe specified as Scheduled Caste Withrespect to . the State ofMadhya Pradesh under Article341 of the Constitution ofIndia;

(f) "Scheduled Tribe"means any tribe or tribal commUnityor part ofor group Withina tribe or tribal community specified as such Withrespect to the State ofMadhya Pradesh under Article342 of the Constitution of India;

(g) "Service" means the Madhya Pradesh Panchayat and RuralDevelopment (Gazetted) Service;

- (h)"DeyelopmentDepartment" means Agriculture lridustry, "Co--= -opera- --. -tion, Social Welfare, Panchayat, Planning and Economics & StatisticsDepartment.
