In order to be eligible to compete at the examination a candidate must satisfy the following conditions, namely :- I. Age.-(a)Hemust have attained the age as prescribed in column 3 of Schedule III and not attained the age as given in column 4 of the said Schedule III, on the fIrst day of January next following the date of commencement of the examination.
(b)The upper age limit shall be relaxable up to a maximum of 5 years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled TIibe ;

(iv) A candidate who is an ex-serviceman will be allowed to deduct from his age the period of all defence service previously rendered by him provided that the resultant age does not exceed the upper age limit by more than three years.
Explanation.-The term "ex-serviceman~ denotes a person who belonged to any of the follOwingcategories and who was employed under the Government of India for a continuous period of not less than six months and who was retrenched or declared surplus as a result of the recommendation of the Economy Unit or due to normal reduction in establishment not more than three years before the date of his registration at any employment exchange or of application made otherwise for employment in Government service :-

(h) The upper age limit for candidates who are emr.loyees of the Madhya Pradesh State Co-operation/Board shall be up to [45 years];

(i)The upper age limit will be relaxed in the case of voluntary Home Guards and non-Commissioned OfficersofHomeGuards for the period of service rendered so by them subjec: to the limit of 8 years but in no case their age should exceed 38 years. - N.B.-Candidates who are admitted to the examination under the age concession mentioned in rule 8(c) (i) and (ii)above will not be eligible for appointment if after submitting the application, they resign from service either before or after taking the examination. Theywill, however, continue to be eligible if they are retrenched from the service or post after submit- ' ting the applications.
Departmental candidates must obtain previous permission of the appointing authority to appear for the examination.
2[Note.-In any case, maximum age limit shall not exceed 45 years for any category including all kinds of relaxations. The maximum age limit shall be calculated according to Circular No.C-3-11, dated 3-11-2012 and 20-11-2012.]
II. Educational qualifications.-He must possess the educational qualifications prescribed for the service as shown in Schedule III :
Provided that-
(a) In exceptional cases the C,ommissionmay, on the recommendation of the Government, treat as qualified a candidate, who - - .- - ---. ---- -- .-._.---though~n6t "possessing any of-the -qualifications'prescribed ~in-----.---_.-.-.----- this clause,' has passed examinations conducted by oth'er-institutions by a standard which, in the opinion of the CommIssions, justifies the admission of the candidate to the examination.
(b) Candidates who are otherwise qualifiedbut have taken degrees from foreign Universities, being Ui1i.versitiesno specifically recognised by Government may also be admitted to the examination at the discretion of the Commission.
