In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires:-
(a) ..Appointing Authority~ in respect of the service or a. post means such authority to whom the powers to appoint in the service have been assigned by the Governme.nt;

(b) "Committee" means the epartmental Promotjon Committee/ Screening Committee/Selection Committee;
(c) "Director" means the Director:Panchayat and Social Justice, Madhya Pradesh;
(d) "Examination" means the competitive examination conduCted for the recruitment under Rule 11 ;
(e) "Government" means the Government of Madhya Pradesh;
(f1"Governor" means the Governor of Madhya Pradesh ; .
(g) "Other Backward Classes" means the other backward classes of citizens as specified by the State Government vide Notification No. F-8-5- XXV-4-84, dated 26th December, 1984 as amended from time to time;
(h) "Scheduled" means the Schedule appended to these rules;
(i) "Scheduled Caste" means any caste, race or tribe or part of or group within a caste, race or tribe specified as Scheduled Caste with respect to the State of Madhya Pradesh under Article 341 of the Constitution of India;

(k) "Service" means the Madhya Pradesh Panchayat and Social Justice Class-III (Executive) Ser.rice :
