Section 28: Saving as respects manner of killing prescribed by religion

The-Prevention-of-Cruelty-to-Animals-Act-1960State Act of Madhya Pradesh · Act 0 of 1960

Nothing contained in this Act shall render it an offence to kill any animal in manner requires by the religion of any community.

Note - The section preserves religious rights if any community to kill animals in a particular manner, this killing is an animal by a Mohammedan 16 by a method of halal is not an offence under the Act, Orissa State has passed a Prevention Cow Slaughter Act 1960 (V of 1960) and hence in that State any killing in contravention of the said Act by any person would be illegal.

(2) Punjab Prohibition if cow Slaughter Act, 1956 (15 of 1956).
