Section 40: Extension Education.

The University shall establish Programmes such as extension services for Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fishery Sciences, Extension Education and continuing Education Services and shall, subject to the provisions of this Act and the Statutes, make available useful information based upon the findings of research available, to the farmers and other people in the rural areas to help solve their problems. It shall conduct demonstration and training programmes for the benefit of the students, extension workers, livestock breeders and other rural people by establishing or utilising Extension Education Units at the existing veterinary colleges, increase milk production, fish production and improve genetic set up of the crossbreed and local breeds, which shall be the principal objectives of all extension activities which shall be co-ordinated with the other appropriate agencies in the University.
