Section 50: Appointment of academic staff members to be made on recommendation of Selection Comm

The Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University Act, 1998.State Act of Maharashtra · Act 17 of 1998

(1) No person shall be appointed by the University as a member of the academic staff, except on the recommendation of a Selection Committee constituted for the purpose in accordance with the provisions of the Statutes made in that behalf :

Provided that, appointment to the posts of Director of the University, Associate Deans, Head of a Department and Professor shall be made on the recommendation of the Selection Committee to be constituted by the Executive Council.

(2) The Selection Committee referred to in the proviso to sub-section (1) shall consist of-

(i) The Vice-Chancellor of the University,

(ii) One non-official member to be nominated by the Pro-Chancellor, from amongst the nonofficial members of the Executive Council,

(iii) Two experts to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor,

(iv) Two representatives of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, one of whom shall be a specialist in the particular field for which the recruitment is to be made,

(v) The Dean of concerned Faculty.

(3) The Vice-Chancellor shall act as Chairman of the Selection Committee.
