1. This Ordinance is in consonance with G.R. issued by Government of Maharashtra, Department of Higher and Technical Education vide Resolution No. USG/1996/ (188/96) UNI – 3, dated 11th September 1997.

2. The definitions specified in this Ordinance, are as specified in MUHS Act, 1998 unless specified otherwise.

3. (a) Ten additional marks shall be allotted to those eligible undergraduate students who have participated in NSS.

(b) Five additional marks for each activity shall be allotted to the eligible undergraduate students from following activities:-

(i) NCC.

(ii) Krida Mahotsav and / or other Sports activities.

(iii) Indradhanushya, Elocution, Dramatics and/or other Cultural activities.

(iv) Avishkar, Anveshan and / or other Research activities.

(v) Avhan / Abhiyan

4. To be eligible, the UG student, while pursuing Health Sciences course with this University, should have :- a) Successfully completed two years of NSS regular activities (120 hrs. every year) and attended 07 days special camp activity.

AND / OR b) Successfully completed two years of NCC activity and attended a NCC camp.

AND / OR c) Participated in Krida Mahotsav and / or other Sports activities at Inter - University, State or National level.

AND / OR d) Participated in Indradhanushya and / or Elocution, Dramatics and / or other Cultural activities at Inter-University, State or National level.

AND / OR e) Participated in Avishkar, Anvenshan and / or other Research activities at Inter- University, State or National level.

AND / OR f) Participated in Social activities like Avhan, Abhiyan & other activities initiated by State Govt. / Rajbhawan for minimum period of two years.

5. These additional marks shall be awarded to the eligible candidates and will be added to the aggregate total marks obtained in their final year of degree examination, after checking their eligibility.

6. These additional marks shall be awarded for maximum of any Two activities out of NSS, NCC, Sports, Cultural, Research or other Social Activities to the eligible UG students, as specified in clause 4, even if a student has participated in more than two activities as mentioned above.

Explanation:- a) That means maximum of 15 marks are awarded to eligible under graduate student if he / she has participated in NSS & other anyone activity as specified in 3b, & 4b-4f, or b) Maximum 10 marks are awarded to eligible under graduate student if he / she has participated in any other two activities as specified in 3b, & 4b-4f but has not participated in NSS activity or c) Maximum 10 marks are awarded to eligible under graduate student if he / she has participated in NSS activity only, or d) Maximum of 05 marks are awarded if he/ she has not participated in NSS but participated in anyone activity as specified in 3b, & 4b-4f.

7. These additional marks shall not be used for passing but would be considered for general merit of the candidate where undergraduate merit is the criteria.

8. Each affiliated college / institution shall submit the list of eligible under graduate students at least one month prior to start of the final year examination in prescribed format. No request in this regard is entertained after declaration of result, in any case.

Note : Ordinance No. 01/2011 hereby stands repealed.
