Section 40: Cognizance of offence.

The Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2006State Act of Maharashtra · Act 3 of 2007

Save in the case of cognizable offences, no court shall take cognizance of an offence under this Act or the rules except on the complaint of, or upon information received from, the Director or the Chief Fire Officer or any other officer authorised by any of them in this behalf.
