Section 122: Constitution of Panchayat.

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Act, 1976.State Act of Maharashtra · Act 28 of 1977

(1) Every Panchayat shall have a Sarpanch, a Upa-Sarpanch and other members, not being less than 3 and more than 13, as the Board may with the approval of the Authority determine.

(2) The members of a Panchayat including the Sarpanch and Upa-Sarpanch shall be nominated by the Board from amongst the residents of the slum improvement area. The names of the members so nominated shall be published by the Board in the Official Gazette; and on the publication of the named of members in the Official gazette, the Panchayat shall be deemed to be duly constituted.
