The Maharashtra Irrigation Act, 1976State Act of Maharashtra · Act 38 of 1976

(1) Where the title of an occupier of any land who is not holder thereof, is such that it will lapse on or before the expiry of the agricultural year next following the date of an irrigation agreement applicable to such land, the consent of the holder to such agreement shall be binding on such occupier in respect of such land.

(2) Where the title of an occupier of any land who is not the holder thereof, is such that will continue after the expiry of the agricultural year next following the date of an irrigation agreement applicable to such land, the consent of such occupier shall be necessary to the validity of the consent of the holder.
