The Maharashtra Khadi and Village Industries Act.State Act of Maharashtra · Act 19 of 1960
(1) For the purpose of assisting the Board in the discharge of its functions under this Act, the State Government may, in consultation with the Board, by notification in the Official Gazette, constitute a Council to be called the Maharashtra State Khadi and Village Industries Council.
[The Council shall consist of-
(a) the Chairman and other members of the Board,
(b) the Chairman of all District Committees, and
(c) such number of additional members (not exceeding four), as the State Government may think fit,]
chosen from amongst persons who, in the opinion of the State Government, are qualified as having had experience and an abiding interest in matters relating to the development of khadi and village industries.
[(1A) The Chairman of the Board shall be the ex-officio Chairman of the Council.]
(2) The Board shall ordinarily consult the Council in the discharge of its functions under this Act.
(3) The members of the Council [shall be paid such allowances as may be prescribed, and] shall hold office during the pleasure of the State Government.]
