Section 12: Appointment of Inspectors.

The Maharashtra Labour Welfare Fund Act.State Act of Maharashtra · Act 40 of 1953

(1) The State Government may appoint Inspectors to inspect records in connection with the sums payable into Fund. [Inspectors appointed, whether by a local authority or the State Government under the Bombay Shops and Establishments Act, 1948 (Bom. LXXIX of 1948), in relation to any area, shall be deemed to be also Inspectors for the purposes of this Act, in respect of establishments to which this Act applies, and the local limits within which such Inspector shall exercise his functions under this Act shall be the area for which he is appointed under the said Act.]

(2) Any Inspector may-

(a) with such assistance, if any, as he thinks fit, enter at any reasonable time any premises for carrying out the purposes of this Act ;

(b) exercise such other powers as may be prescribed.
