Section 21: Power of investigation.

The Maharashtra Lotteries (Control and Tax) and Prize Competitions (Tax) Act.State Act of Maharashtra · Act 82 of 1958

(1) Every officer not below the rank of a Sub-Inspector of Police shall have power to investigate all offences punishable under this Act.

(2) Every such officer shall, in the conduct of such investigation, exercise the powers (except the power to arrest without warrant otherwise than under section 20) conferred by the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (V of 1898), upon an officer in-charge of a police station for the investigation of a cognizable offence
