Section 1: Short title, extent and commencement.

The Maharashtra Merged Territories and Areas (Jagirs Abolition) Act.State Act of Maharashtra · Act 39 of 1954

(1) This Act may be called the [MaharashtraMerged Territories and Areas (Jagirs Abolition) Act.]

(2) It extends to the merged territories and the merged areas in the [pre-Reorganisation State of Bombay, excluding the transferred territories.]

(3) It shall come into force on such dateas the State Government may by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf.
