Quantum of daily allowance admissible for a halt on tour on public business at an outstation shall be related to the actual period of halt. The daily allowance for the period of halt specified in column 1 of the Table below shall be calculated as shown in column 2 of the Table.

(iv) Halt exceeding twenty-four One daily allowance for every 24 hours . . . . hours of halt. For a fraction of 24 hours at the end of halt, daily allowance will be calculated as indicated above.
Explanation.— For the purpose of this rule the period of halt shall begin from the time the forward journey ends at an outstation and shall end at the time the return or further journey commences.
