Section 27: Application of Bom. LXVII of 1948 to leases of alienated land.

If any alienated land has been lawfully leased and such lease is subsisting on the appointed day, the provisions of the Bombay Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1948 (Bom. LXVII of 1948) (hereinafter in this section referred to as "the said Act") shall apply to the said lease, and the rights and liabilities of the holder of such land, his tenant or tenants shall, subject to the provisions of this Act, be governed by the provisions of the said Act :

Provided that, for the purpose of the application of the provisions of the said Act in regard to the compulsory purchase of land by a tenant, the lease shall be deemed to have commenced on the date of the regrant of the land under section 7 or 9, as the case may be.

Explanation.- For the purpose of this section, the expression "land" shall have the same meaning as is assigned to it in the said Act.
