The Maharashtra Police Act.State Act of Maharashtra · Act 22 of 1951
(1) This Act may be called [the Maharashtra Police Act].
[(2) It extends to the whole of the State of [Maharashtra].
(3) It shall come into force [in the pre-Reorganisation State of Bombay] on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette [specify in this behalf, and in that part of the State to which it is extended by the Bombay Police (Extension and Amendment) Act, 1959 (Bom. XXXVI of 1959), it shall come into force on such other date as the Government may by like notification specify].
