No Municipal or other local rates shall be payable by the State Government on account of the occupation or use of any house or place [by members of the Police Force for the convenient performance of their duties, in any area of the [Bombay area of the State of Maharashtra excluding] [Brihan Mumbai], and also in such of the remaining areas of the [State of Maharashtra] as may be notified by the State Government in the Official Gazette].
