The present designation of the Superintendent of Police in any area under the charge of the Commissioner of Police, and that of the District Superintendent of Police in any other area, is hereby changed to Assistant Commissioner of Police and Superintendent of Police, respectively; and accordingly, any reference by whatever form of words to the Superintendent of Police, or as the case may be, to the District Superintendent of Police, in any law for the time being in force, or in any instrument or other document, shall, after the commencement of this Act, be a reference to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, or as the case may be, the Superintendent of Police.
