Save as otherwise expressly provided in this Act, any person, who contravenes any of the provision of this Act, or any rule made thereunder, shall, on conviction, be punished with fine, which may extend to [five lakhs rupees], and in case of continued contravention thereof, with an additional fine which may extend to [five thousand rupees] per day for every day during which such contravention continues.
