MAHARASHTRA UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES, NASHIK Statute No. 6/2000 : Regarding Academic Calendar of the University.
1) The Academic calendar shall be prepared for next academic year before the expiry of the current academic year.
2) The Academic calendar shall clearly specify the dates on which 1st term begins and ends.
3) The winter vacation shall be for 30 days. The dates of beginning and end of winter vacation shall be clearly specified.
4) The dates of beginning and end of 2nd Term shall be specified in the calendar.
5) The summer vacation shall be for 40 days. The dates of beginning and end of summer vacation shall be clearly specified in the academic calendar.
6) The academic staff shall have 8 Holidays in addition to above periods of vacation.
7) The date of beginning of the 1st term of the next academic year must be specified in the academic calendar.
8) The academic staff in all the affiliated colleges of MUHS shall have holidays and vacation only as per the academic calendar.
9) The non academic staff in all the affiliated colleges and University shall have all the Holidays which are declared as Public Holidays by the Govt. of Maharashtra.
10) The day on which non teaching staff have holiday but no holiday for teaching staff, the Dean / Principal may ask some non teaching staff members to be present on that day to avoid problems in teaching and grant compensatory holiday on any other day.
11) The teaching staff of the affiliated colleges are entitled to avail ( 3 days ) local Holidays declared by Commissioner / Collector, and the holidays declared in (6) above, they will not be entitled to avail all Public Holidays declared by Govt. of Mahrashtra.

14) The Deans / Principals should inform the University about the number of actual teaching days during the academic year in their college. They should ensure that actual teaching days are optimally used for academic purposes.
15) Non teaching staff working in teaching department are entitled to avail holidays like non teaching Govt. servant, but they will be available for departmental work as directed by Head of Dept. Such non teaching employee shall be given compensatory Holiday. Compensatory holidays should not be accumulate for more than 3 days and should not be allowed to be carried forward to the next calendar year. Compensatory Holidays can be prefixed or suffixed or both to leave due and / or holidays.
