Section 20: Powers and duties of Chairmen of Boards.

The Maharashtra Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Boards Act, 1965State Act of Maharashtra · Act 41 of 1965

(1) It shall be the duty of the Chairman of the State Board and of each Divisional Board to ensure that the provisions of this Act, and the regulations and by-laws made thereunder are faithfully observed and he shall have all powers necessary for this purpose.

(2) In an emergency which, in the opinion of the Chairman of the State Board or a Divisional Board, requires that immediate action should be taken, the Chairman shall take such action as he deems necessary and shall thereafter report his action to the Board at its next meeting.

(3) Each Chairman shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties, as may be prescribed.
