The Maharashtra Tribal Economic Condition (Improvement) Act, 1976State Act of Maharashtra · Act 5 of 1977
(1) The State Government may, for the purpose of purchase or sale of any specified produce in any specified Tribal area, by order appoint agents, in respect of such Tribal area specified in the order. Such agents or their sub-agents shall be either co-operative societies registered or deemed to be registered under any law relating to such societies for the time being in force in the State or any corporation or institution or organisation owned, controlled or financed by any Government or such co-operative society.
(2) The terms and conditions for appointment of agents and sub-agents shall be such as may be determined by the State Government, from time to time.
