Section 15: State Water Board.

The Maharashtra Water Resources Regulatory Authority Act, 2005State Act of Maharashtra · Act 18 of 2005

(1) The State Government shall, by notification in the Official Gazette, constitute a Board to be known as the State Water Board for the purposes of this Act.

(2) The Board shall consist, of the following Members, namely:-

( a ) the Chief Secretary of the State. ex-officio President; (b) the Principal Secretary, Planning Department. ex-officio Member; ( c ) the Principal Secretary, Finance Department. ex-officio Member; ( d ) the Secretary, Water Conservation Department. ex-officio Member; ( e ) the Secretary, Water Supply Department. ex-officio Member; ( f ) the Secretary, Urban Development Department. ex-officio Member; ( g ) the Secretary, Energy and Environment Department. ex-officio Member; ( h ) the Secretary, Water Resources Department (Command Area Development Authority). ex-officio Member; ( i ) the Secretary, Agriculture Department. ex-officio Member; ( j ) Divisional Commissioners of all Revenue Divisions in State. ex-officio Member; ( k ) the Secretary, Water Resources Department. ex-officio Member Secretary.

(3) The Board shall prepare a draft Integrated State Water Plan on the basis of basin and subbasin wise water plans prepared and submitted by the River Basin Agencies.

(4) The Board shall submit its first draft integrated State Water Plan to the Council for its approval within six months from the date on which this Act is made applicable in the State.

(5) The Board shall, while preparing the draft Integrated State Water Plan mentioned in subsection (3), consider the directives of the State Water Policy.

(6) The Board shall meet at such time and place as the President of the Board may decide and shall follow such procedure as may be prescribed.
