Section 3: Appointment of Controlling Authority.

The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint an officer, not below the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Labour, to be the Controlling Authority for the administration of this Act and for carrying out the purposes of this Act, and different Controlling Authorities may be appointed for different areas or for different industries, or in the same areas or different industries or for the same industry in different areas.
