BE it enacted by the Legislature ' 'of Manipur in the Twenty—Seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows :-—- l. (1) This Act may be called the Manipur Land ' . _ ' Revenue & Land Reforms (Third Amendment) Act, 1976. 55°" “"9 ‘ nlmence‘ g2) It shall come into force on such date as the Govern— ,mcm ment may, by notification in the oificial Gazette appoint.

2. In this Act, “Prinbipal Act” means the M. L. R.‘ & [3d 1960. L. R. Act, 1960 as amended from time to time. 3, In section 91 of the Principal Act aftgr the existing Amendment proviso there shall b: added a. second provxso namely,-—- of Scam. . . 91. “Provided further that not legal practmoner' shall be allowed to appear and conduct cases in proceeding under Chapter XI of the Act”.

4. In subsection (2) of Section 136 of the Principal Amman“. ACt,——— - of Section

(3) the words “and unmarried daughter” occuring 13" in the fourth line shall be deleted; _ (b at 'the end of clause (ii) for the rsemicplqn a full stop shall be substituted and the rcmaming clausas (iii) and (iv) shall be deletci .

5. In the proviso to sub—section (i)uof section 136;!) of the Principal Act, for the item (a). (u), the followmg shall be substituted, namely,— “(a) (ii) a banking company ; Amendment of Section

Explanation—‘a banking company’ means—

(1) a banking company as defined in the Banking Regulation Act, 1949;

(2) the State Bank of India constituted under the State Bank of India Act, 1955;

(3) a Subsidiary Bank, as defined in the State Bank of India (Subsidiary) Act, 1959;

(4) a corresponding new Bank constituted under the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertaking) Act, 1970 ;

(5) any banking institution notified by the CentralGovernment under Section 51 of the BankingRegulation Act, 1949; (.6) the Agricuhural Refinance and Development Corporation constituted under the Agricultural Refinance Corporation Act, 1963;

(7) the Regional Rural Banks, as defined in sec-tion 2(f) of the Regional Rural Banks Ordinance, 1975; and

(8) any other financial institutions notified by the Central Government in the Ofiicial Gazetteas a bank for. the purpose of this Act”. 6, In" section 142(1) of the Principal Act for the words“thirty days” occuring in the second time, the words “fifteendays” shall be substituted.

7. 8.
