Section 21: Appointment of Additional Police.

"(1)Additional or special police forces comprising officers and personnel of such ranks and grades, for such purpose, such role, such time, such pay and with such qualification and eligibility criteria as may be prescribed by the State Government, may be created, and these may be appointed or deputed by the authority as may be prescribed in that behalf.

(2)The additional or special police forces and its officers and personnel shall be:

(a)Vested with all or such of the powers, privileges, duties and immunities of a police officer as may be prescribed or specially notified by the State Government;

(b)Subject to the orders of the Director General of Police or any other officer(s) so designated by the Director General of Police in this behalf.

(3) The deployment or deputation of such additional or special police forces may be made and the cost of such deployment be recovered in such manner as may be prescribed by the Government. "
