(1) The President of the Sponsoring Society shall by virtue of his office be the Chancellor of the University. (2) The Chancellor shall hold office for a period of six years and by virtue of his office, be the head of the University. (3) The Chancellor shall, in absence of the Visitor, preside at the Convocation of the University held for conferring degrees. (4) The Chancellor shall by virtue of his office, be the Chairperson of the Governing Board. (5) The Chancellor shall have the following powers, namely,- (a) to call for any information or records; (b) to appoint or remove the Vice-Chancellor. (6) The powers and functions of the Chancellor shall be such as shall be provided by the Statutes.
