Section 4: Maximum amount of advance

(1) The maximum amount which may be advanced to a member for the purchase of vehicle shall not exceed rupee ten lakhs or the actual price of the vehicle, intended to be purchased, whichever is less:

Provided that no advance shall be admissible in case a vehicle has already been purchased and paid for in full:

Provided further that, where such payment has been made in part, the amount of advance shall be limited to the balance to be paid as certified by the member.

(2) The amount of advance under sub-rule (1) shall be sanctioned in the name of the Governor by the Sanctioning authority.
