Section 161: Notice of loss of Indian vessel to be given to Director-General.

If the owner or agent of any Indian vessel has reason, owing to the non-appearance of the vessel or to any other circumstance, to apprehend that the vessel is wholly lost, he shall as soon as may be, send notice in writing to the Director-General relating to the loss and the cause of such loss stating the name of the vessel, her official number, if any, and her port of registry
