(1) On mountain roads and steep roads, where the road is not sufficiently wide to allow the motor vehicles to cross each other freely, the driver travelling downhill shall- 24 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(i)] i. stop the vehicle on the left side of the road; and ii. allow the vehicle proceeding uphill to pass first.
