Section 6: For section 13 of the National Highways Authority of India Act, 1988 (hereinafter rererred to as the National Highways Authority Act), the following section shall be substituted, namely

13. Any land required by the Authority tor discharging its functions under this Act shall be deemed to be land needed for a public purpose and such land may be acquired for the Authority under the provisions of the National Highways Act, 1956."
