Section 2: Explanation

The National Highways (Manner of deposition) Rules, 2018Central Rules · 1956

For the purposes of these rules, -

(a) “Act” shall mean the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956).

(b) “competent authority” shall mean the competent authority for land acquisition (CALA) appointed under clause (a) of section 3 of the National Highways Act, 1956.

(c) “executing agency” shall have the same meaning as assigned to it under clause (d) of rule (2) of the National Highways Rules, 1957.
