The Academic Committee shall meet at least ONCE IN SIX MONTHS and consider the following matters and make j„v recommendations tothe Gwerning Body thereon;

. (1) General supervision over the academic policies of the Institute and methods of instruction, teaching, training, evaluation of research and improvement in academic standards; .

(2) Matters of general academic interest either on its own initiatives or on the reference by me Governing Body;

(3)Planning and formulation Of me programmes for teaching, research and training in the Institute;

(4)Appointment of eminently qualified persons as question paper setters and panels of examiners in the subject with which the.

Institute deals;

(5) Approval of courses of study, training and examinations in the .subjects with which the Institute deals;

(6) Supervision of conduct of post-graduate examinations in the subjects with which the institute deals;

(7) Formulation of standards and procedures for the selection of students for me post-graduate courses;

(8)Consideration of the results of the examinations and recommend candidates for award of degrees, diplomas and other academic distinctions to the Governing Body.

(6) Poiicies on the testing and evaluation support to the medical devices industry, including: application of quality management systems. '• The above amendments to Regulation-2I (Schcdule-U) are issued with the approvals of the Institute Body (Resolution NQ&4&5 dated 36\07.2007) and' the Central Government (DST) vide letter No.AI/SCI7046/2(K)8 dated 2n<* May, 2008. .
