1. (1) इन जनयमों का संजिप्त नाम नोटेरी (संिोधन) जनयम, 2024 ह ै।
(2) य ेरािपत्र में उनके प्रकािन की तारीख को प्रिृत्त होंगे ।
2. नोटेरी जनयम, 1956 (जिसे इसके पश्चात ्उि जनयम कहा गया ह)ै के जनयम 7क के उपजनयम (2) में,
(i) "उप जिजधक सलाहकार या जिजध अजधकारी" िब्िों के स्ट्र्ान पर “उप जिजधक सलाहकार या उप जिधायी परामिी या उप सरकारी अजधििा या जिजध अजधकारी" िब्ि रखे िाएगंे;

3. उि जनयमों के जनयम 8 के उप जनयम (4 क ) में, तीसरे परन्तुक के अधीन "कोटा की िृजि" िब्िों के स्ट्र्ान पर "अनुसूची के स्ट्तम्भ (3 ) के अधीन नोटेररयों की अजधकतम संख्या में िृजि" िब्ि रखे िाएंगे।
4. उि जनयमों के जनयम 8क में,
(i) पार्श्य िीर्य में "जिस्ट्तार" िब्ि के स्ट्र्ान पर "पररितयन" िब्ि रखा िाएगा ।
(ii) "जिस्ट्तार" िब्ि िहां कहीं िह आता ह,ै के स्ट्र्ान पर ''पररितयन'' िब्ि रखा िाएगा।
5. उि जनयमों के जनयम 8ख में िसूरे परंतुक के पश्चात् जनम्नजलजखत परंतुक अतंःस्ट्र्ाजपत दकया िाएगा, अर्ायत: —
(i) "परंत ुयह भी दक व्यिसाय के प्रमाण पत्र के निीकरण के जलए आिेिन भौजतक रूप में दकया िा सकेगा;
(ii) परंत ुयह भी दक नोटेरी जनयम (संिोधन), 2024 के प्रारंभ से पूिय भौजतक रूप में प्राप्त आिेिनों पर जिद्यमान नोटेररयों के व्यिसाय प्रमाणपत्र के निीनीकरण के प्रयोिन के जलए समुजचत सरकार द्वारा जिचार दकया िा सकेगा ।
6. उि जनयमों के जनयम 9 में, "जिस्ट्तार" िब्ि िहां कहीं िह आता ह,ै के स्ट्र्ान पर ''पररितयन'' िब्ि रखा िाएगा ।
7. उि जनयमों के जनयम 11 के उपजनयम (5) में “राज्य सरकार” िब्िों के स्ट्र्ान पर “समुजचत सरकार” िब्ि रखे िाएंग े।
8. उि जनयमों की सारणी में, -
(i) आंध्र प्रििे से संबंजधत क्रम संख्या 1 के सामने, स्ट्तंभ (2) में "1700" अंकों के स्ट्र्ान पर, "3000" अंक रखे िाएंगे;
(ii) असम से संबंजधत क्रम संख्या 2 के सामने, स्ट्तंभ (2) में "575" अंकों के स्ट्र्ान पर, "1000" अकं रखे िाएगंे ;
(iii) जबहार से संबंजधत क्रम संख्या 3 के सामने, स्ट्तंभ (2) में "925" अंकों के स्ट्र्ान पर, "2000" अकं रखे िाएगंे ;
(iv) गुिरात से संबंजधत क्रम संख्या 4 के सामने, स्ट्तंभ (2) में "8000" अंकों के स्ट्र्ान पर, "12000" अंक रखे िाएंग;े

(vi) मध्य प्रिेि से संबंजधत क्रम संख्या 6 के सामने, स्ट्तंभ (2) में "1650" अंकों के स्ट्र्ान पर, "4000" अंक रखे िाएंगे;
(vii) तजमलनाडु से संबंजधत क्रम संख्या 7 के सामने, स्ट्तंभ (2) में “4700” अंकों के स्ट्र्ान पर, "9000" अंक रखे िाएंगे;
(viii) महाराष्ट्र से संबंजधत क्रम संख्या 8 के सामने, स्ट्तंभ (2) में “8000” अंकों के स्ट्र्ान पर, “20000” अंक रखे िाएंग े
(ix) कनायटक से संबंजधत क्रम संख्या 9 के सामने, स्ट्तंभ (2) में "3500" अंकों के स्ट्र्ान पर, "7000" अंक रखे िाएंग े;
(x) उडीसा से संबंजधत क्रम संख्या 10 के सामने, स्ट्तंभ (1) में "उडीसा" िब्ि के स्ट्र्ान पर "ओजडिा" िब्ि रखा िाएगा और स्ट्तंभ (2) में "750" अंकों के स्ट्र्ान पर, "2000" अकं रखे िाएंग े;
(xi) पंिाब से संबंजधत क्रम संख्या 11 के सामने, स्ट्तंभ (2) में "2000" अंकों के स्ट्र्ान पर, "3500" अंक रखे िाएंग े;
(xii) रािस्ट्र्ान से संबंजधत क्रम संख्या 12 के सामने, स्ट्तंभ (2) में "4500" अंकों के स्ट्र्ान पर, "7000" अंक रखे िाएंगे ;
(xiii) उत्तर प्रिेि से संबंजधत क्रम संख्या 13 के सामने, स्ट्तंभ (2) में "5150" अंकों के स्ट्र्ान पर, "14000" अंक रखे िाएंगे ;

1. (1) These rules may be called the Notaries (Amendment) Rules, 2024.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Notaries Rules, 1956 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 7A, in sub-rule (2),
(i) for the words “Deputy Legal Adviser or Law Officer”, the words “Deputy Legal Adviser or Deputy Legislative Counsel or Deputy Government Advocate or Law Officer” shall be substituted;
(ii) in the proviso, for the words “Provided that” the following shall be substituted, namely : — “Provided that the Interview Board under this sub-rule may consist of a single member or more than one member;
Provided further that”;
3. In rule 8 of the said rules, in sub-rule (4A), under the third proviso, for the words “enhancement of quota” the words “enhancement of maximum number of notaries under column (3) of the Schedule” shall be substituted.
4. In rule 8A of the said rules,
(i) in the marginal heading for the word “extension”, the word “change” shall be substituted.
(ii) For the word “extension” wherever it occurs, the word “change” shall be substituted.
5. In rule 8B of the said rules, after the second proviso, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:— “Provided also that the application for renewal of certificate of practice may be made in physical form;
Provided also that the applications received in physical form before the commencement of the Notaries (Amendment) Rules, 2024 may also be considered by the appropriate government for the purpose of renewal of the Certificate of Practice of the existing notaries.”;
6. In rule 9 of the said rules, for the word “extension” wherever it occurs, the word “change” shall be substituted.
7. In rule 11 of the said rules, in sub-rule (5), for the words “State Government”, the words “appropriate government” shall be substituted.
