4. ^fcf f*F*TT TFu" % I MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 1st My, 1998 G.S.R. 374 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Goa, Daman and Diu (Admiiustration)Act, 1962 (I of 1962) the Central Government hereby extends to the Union territory of Daman and Diu, the enactments specified in column (1) of the Schedule hereto annexed subject to the modifications specified in the corresponding entries in column (2) of the said Schedule.
THE SCHEDULE Enactments Modifications Goa Public Gambling (Amendment) Act, 1. In Section If— 1992 (Goa Act No. 11 of 1992) (0 For Sub-section (2) the following sub-section shall be substituted, namely:— "(2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint."
(ji) after sub-section (2) the following sub-section shall be in serted, namely:— "(3) It extends to the whole of the Union territory of Daman and Diu".
2, In Section 2 —
(i) for the words and figures "the Goa, Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act, 1976 (Act 14 of 1976)", the words and ' figures " the Goa, Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act, 4 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—Sac.

(ii) for the words "the Government of Goa", the words "the ad ministrator of the Union territory of Daman and Diu ap pointed by the President Under article 239 of the Constitu tion" shall be substituted.
3. Section 4 shall be omitted.
The Goa Public Gambling (Amendment) Act, 1. In Section 1.— 1993 (Goa Act No. 2 of 1994). © for sub-section (2) the following sub-section shall be sub stituted, namely:— "(2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint"
(ii) After sub-section (2) so substituted, the following sub-sec tion shall be inserted, namely :— "(3) it extends to the whole of the Union territory of Daman andDiu".
2. In section 2 for the words and figures "the Goa, Daman and Dhi Public Gambling Act, 1976 (Act 14 of 1976)" the words and fig ures "Goa, Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act, 1976 (Act 14 of 1976) as in force in the Union territory of Daman and Diu" shall be substituted.
3. Section 4 shall be omitted.

ANNEXUREI The Goa Public Gambling (Amendment) Act, 1992 (llof 1992) as extended to the Union territory of Daman and Diu An Act further to amend the Goa, Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act, 1976 Be it enacted by the legislative assembly of Goa in the forty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:— 1 Short title and commencement—
(1) This Act may be called the Goa Public Gambling (Amendment) Act, 1992.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint
(3) It extends to the whole of the Union territory of Daman and Diu.
2 Amendment of section 2.— In clause (3) of section 2 of the Goa, Daman andDiu Public Gambling Act, 1976 (14 of 1976) as in force in the Union territory of Daman andDiu (hereinafter referred to as the "Principal Act,"), for the words and figure "the Government of Goa, Daman and Diu,the words "the Administrator of the Union territory of Daman andDiu, appointed by the President under article 239 of the Constitution" shall be substituted.
3, Insertion of new section 13A.— After section 13 of the Principal Act, the following shall be inserted, namely:— "13 A. Authorised Game —
(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, the Government may authorise any game of electronic amusement/slot machines in Five Star Hotels subject to such conditions, including payment of such recur ring and non-recurring fees, as may be prescribed.
(2) The provisions of this Act shall not apply to any game authorised nuder sub-section (1)."

(i) in clause (a) for the words "two hundred rupees" the words "two thousand rupees" shall be substituted ;
(ii) in clause (b) for the words "three hundred rupees" the words "three thousand rupees" shall be substituted and;
(iii) in clause (c) for the words "five hundred rupees", the words "five thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
3. Amendment of section 11.— In sub-section (2) of section 11 of the Principal Act, for the words "five hundred rupees", the words "two thousands rupees" shall be substituted.
