[PARr n SEc. J(ii)J S.O.l404(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 7 and SA of the National 'Highways- Act, r'956(48 of 1956), the Central Government hereby notifies that there shall be levied, collected and retained fees on mechanical vehicles, for the use of the "Four Ianing and strengthening ofPune-Solapur road (National Highway No.9) in the district Pune in the State of Maharashtra from Km.14/000 to Km.40/000" at the rates specified in the Schedule hereunder and having regard to the Concession Agreement dated 20th FebiJiary 2003 ertered into with M/s ARYAN TOLL ROAD PRIVATE LIMITED having its registered office at 501, Dattashram, Hindu Colony, Lane No.1 , Dadar, Mwnbai 400014; to build, operate and transfer the "Four Ianing and strengthening ofPune- Solapur road (National Highway No.9) from Km.14/000 to Km.40/000", and for service provided by it and hereby authorizes the said "M/s ARYAN TOLL ROAD PRIVATE LIMITED" or its auhorized legal representative to collect and retain the fees on mechanical vehicles at the rates specified in the said Schedule from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette and until the lOth March, 2019.

2. The fee set forth shall be charged to the users of the "Four Ianing and strengthening of Pune-Solapur road (NH-9) from Km.l4/000 to Km.40/000" for a one-way trip.
3. When a vehicle has to use the "Four Ianing and strengthening ofPune-Solapur road (NH- 9) from Km.l4/000 to Km.40/000" more than once in a day, the user shall at his option be entitled to do so on payment of one and half times the fee at the rates as given in the Schedule for one way trip in the first trip itself. A vehicle owner shall also be entitled to a monthly pass on payment of fee equal to thirty times the fee for one-way trip. The trip shall mean unidirectional journey between Km.14/000 and Km.40/000 of project length, for full or part length crossing either one or both toll stations.
4. The following types of vehicles are exempted from the fee specified above in the Schedule, namely:-
(i) Defence vehicles,
(ii) Vehicles with VIP symbols,
(iii) Police vehicles,
(iv) Fire-fighting vehicle,
(v) Ambulances,
(vi) Funeral vans,
(vii) Posts and Telegraph Department vehicles and
(viii) Central Government and State Government vehicles on duty. · 5. The vehicles officially belonging to the following shall be deemed to be vehicles having VIP symbols, namely:-
(i) President of India,
(ii) Vice-President of India,
(iii) Central and State Ministers,
(iv) Leaders of Opposition in Lok Sabha!Rajya Sabba!State Legislature having the status of Cabinet Ministers,
(v) Governors of States,
(vi) Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories,
(vii) Executive Councilor oflocal elected bodies,
(viii) Speakers or Chairman of Central and State Legislatures,
(ix) Members of Parliament of the entire country on production ofiD Card issued by the Parliament,
(x) Members of Legislative Assemblies/Legislative Councils within the State on production ofiD Card issued by the State Legislature and Legislative Council,
(xi) Foreign dignitaries on State visit to India,
(xii) Foreign Diplomats stationed in India using cars with CD(Car Diplomatic) symbols and 6 THE GAZEITEOFINDIA: EXTRAORDINARY [PART Jl-SEc. 3(ii)]
(xiii) Winners of the Gallantry Awards namely, Param Vir Cbakra, Asbok Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra, Kirti Cbakra, Vir Cbakra and Shaurya Chakra on production ofiD Card authenticating the Award ~y the Competent Authority.
6. The above J.llentioned rates shall be conspicuously displayed at the toll plazas and also at a distance of about 500 metres ahead of the toll plaias on either side of 11 Four Ianing and strengthening of Pune-Solapur road (NH-9) from Km.14/000 to Km.40/000n. The height of the display boards and size of letters being such that it is easy for drivers to read the display boards and they shall be legibly written or printed in English, Hindi and other Regional language at the areas in which the stretch is situated.
7. The said "M/s ARYAN TOLL ROAD PRIVATE LIMITED" or its authorized legal representatives shall give a receipt to the payer for the fee collected. ' {F.
