1. Short title and commencement.— (1) This Act may be called the Goa Command Area Development (Amendment) Act, 2022.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section 35.— In section 35 of the Goa Command Area Development Act, 1997 (Goa Act No. 27 of 1997),—
(i) for the expression “with imprisonment which may extend to two years or with fine which shall not be less than one thousand rupees, but may extend to five thousand rupees or with both”, the expression “with fine which shall not be less than five thousand rupees, but may extend to ten thousand rupees” shall be substituted;
(ii) for the existing proviso, the following proviso shall be substituted, namely:— “Provided that in case of a continuing offence, a fine not exceeding five hundred rupees per day shall also be imposed during the period of the continuance of the offence.”.
