Section 18: Compensation for animals destroyed

The Odisha Animal Contagious Diseases Act, 1949State Act of Odisha · Act 8 of 1949

Compensation may be paid to the owner of an animal destroyed under Section 17 and such compensation shall be determined in accordance with rules to be prescribed in this behalf ;

Provided that-

(i) no compensation shall be paid to any person convicted of any offence punishable under this Act committed in respect of such animal;

(ii) no compensation shall be paid in respect of any animal which, when it was brought into the [State] of Orissa, was affected with the disease on account of which it was destroyed.
