Section 1: Short title, extent and commencement

(1) This Act may be celled the Orissa Basic Education Act, 1951.

(2) It extends to the whole of the State of Orissa.

1[(3) This section and section 16-A shall come into force at once and the remaining provisions of this Act shall come into force in such area or areas on such date or dates as the State Government may, by notification, direct.]
