Section 49: Collector to whom execution of decree has been transferred to cease to discharge the functions of a Collector under the Act

(1) When the Collector to whom the execution of any decree has been transferred under Section 49, is also the Collector who has to discharge the other functions of a Collector under this Act in respect of the ward against whom such decree has to be executed, the State Government shall appoint some other person by name or by virtue of his office to exercise the functions of a Collector under this Act in respect of such ward other than the execution of the decrees, transferred to him.
(2) The Revenue Commissioner may, in those areas where the Madras Proprietary Estate Village Service Act, 1894 (Madras Act II of 1894) is in force authorise the person so appointed to exercise all or any of the powers conferred on a revenue officer-in-charge of a division by Sub-section (2) of Section 16 of that Act.
